School District Grant, Vitamin Boosters, and Celebrating Lefties

Here are the five things you need to know today, Aug. 13, in Lemon Grove.

1. Board business: Trustees will officially accept a $362,000 grant awarded to the Lemon Grove School District by the Department of Defense during Tuesday's governing board meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at the Lemon Grove Library, 3001 School Lane. 2. Happy pets: Learn how to make treats for your furry, four-legged friends. Pet Treats class will start at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lemon Grove Library, 3001 School Lane.

3. Need a boost? Sprouts is offering vitamin shots throughout the month of August in Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Poway, RB, Lemon Grove, Santee and La Mesa. The shot clinic is scheduled for Thursday in the Grove. Costs range from $10-$30.

4. Be kind to southpaws: Today is Lefthanders Day.
