Gastil and Vasquez to Continue Hosting Weekly Meet and Greet at Starbucks

Council Member George Gastil and City Council candidate Racquel Vasquez will continue to host weekly meet and greets at the Lemon Grove Starbucks, located on 7801 Broadway, each Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. until the Nov. 6 election.

“The Saturday morning free 'Coffee with the Candidates' began in September and has provided us with an invaluable opportunity to meet Lemon Grove residents and business owners,” said Gastil. “The best part is that we could hear their concerns and answer their questions on the spot over a lip-smacking cup of coffee.”

Both San Diego Democratic Party endorsed candidates are running together to fill the two open seats in the City of Lemon Grove this November. Gastil is seeking his second term on the City Council, while Vasquez, who currently serves as a City of Lemon Grove Planning Commissioner, is seeking her first.

“This grassroots effort is the first of its kind in Lemon Grove, and provides an open forum to make our positions on important issues clear to voters,” stated Vasquez. “For the most part, residents come to meet us, learn about our campaign platforms, and voice their concerns. Moreover, the value is in the open dialog we receive, which will help to prepare us, so we can better serve the people we represent.”

Nice if you can actually pass such a bill but we are dealing with politicians who cherish the powerRead More they have attained rising to the top. In actuality this has "A Snowballs Chance In Hell" of passing, but kudos for the effort.
