BOMA International Honors 101 West Broadway and Irvine Company Office Properties with TOBY Award

101 West Broadway, managed by Irvine Company Office Properties, has been named an international winner of “The Outstanding Building of the Year” (TOBY) Competition in the 250,000 – 499,000 Square Foot Category by the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA).

 

The TOBY Awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive award of their kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality in office buildings and rewarding excellence in office building management on an international level.

“BOMA San Diego is so proud of Irvine Company and its team at 101 West Broadway,” said BOMA San Diego President Mike Hansen of CBRE. “This award was exceptionally special to win this year as the 2013 Every Building Conference & Expo was held right here in San Diego for the first time since 2000.”

101 West Broadway is a stunning Class A office building located on the Broadway corridor in downtown San Diego, just steps from Horton Plaza Shopping Center, numerous hotels and spectacular restaurants.This 20-story office building was designed by Langdon and Wilson Architects and opened in 1983. 101 West Broadway consists of 401,444 rentable square feet and has been owned and managed by Irvine Company since July 2005. Irvine Company is one of the nation’s premier real estate investment companies and a long-term owner and investor in San Diego with offices and apartments across the county. 101 W. Broadway, which includes a convenience store and two restaurants, is home to federal agencies, law firms and EvoNexus, an innovative technology incubator operated by CommNexus with support from the Irvine Company.

To judge this category, TOBY reviewed policies and procedures, preventive maintenance, building quality and condition, renovations, tenants, amenities, staff, training, energy conservation, community involvement and emergency preparedness.
