Capistrano Connections Academy's Back-to-School Picnic

More than 900 students, parents and teachers celebrated the start of the school year at Capistrano Connections Academy’s Back-to-School Picnic at Irvine Park. Putting schoolwork aside for the afternoon, students came together to participate in relay races, arts and crafts, football and story-telling, among other activities. The annual celebration is one of several events and field trips that Capistrano Connections Academy organizes throughout the school year, providing opportunities for students of the virtual school to meet new classmates and reconnect with old friends in-person.

Capistrano Connections Academy is a tuition-free, high-quality, highly accountable virtual public school serving students in grades K-12 in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. The school provides students the flexibility to learn from anywhere, with an innovative curriculum that meets rigorous state education standards.
