SDSU Offers Marketing and Digital Media Courses

As part of its newly-designed Professional Certificate in Marketing and Digital Media program, SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will offer Creating the Marketing Plan on Wednesdays, Jan. 22-Feb. 12, 6-9 p.m.

 

Students will be taught marketing plan basics, from completing a competitive assessment to creating a strategic communications platform. Key topics include: moving from planning to action, identifying your “value proposition,” using market research effectively, determining your competitive business profile, setting practical goals and objectives, cultivating strategies, and measuring results.

The College will also offer Publishing on the Web Thursdays, Jan. 23-Feb. 20, 6-9 p.m. as part of its Professional Certificate in Marketing and Digital Media program.

 

This course is an introduction to web publishing tools and will review the basics of publishing content on the Internet. Students will learn how to set up a web presence, how to blog and how to post regular content on the web. They also will be taught how and when to use the web’s numerous free or low-cost applications to increase website traffic and ensure site loyalty.   

 

Instructor Nicole Vargas is an SDSU faculty member in the School of Journalism and Media Studies as well as a digital media producer and consultant.
