Banning, Beaumont Each Hosting Free Halloween Parties Saturday

Since Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year, you can take your family to celebrate early at one of two city sponsored events.

Residents from both the cities of Banning and Beaumont have options to celebrate Halloween this Saturday in free community events.

Banning is holding its fourth annual Halloween Fest at the Banning Community Center, 789 N. San Gorgonio Avenue, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Last year, more than 800 people attended that event, which includes a zombie walk for prizes sponsored by Nike, according to Banning Recreation Coordinator Ana Candelario.

“It doesn’t matter how old you are, there’s something for everyone to do,” Candelario told Patch about the free event.

Kids can win a free pumpkin every hour, if they take part in the scavenger hunt.  More exciting for the little ones, though, is the activity in which they get to paint a car, courtesy of All American Towing, Candelario said.

Over in Beaumont, the city is sponsoring a Monster Mash Halloween Party, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Albert A. Chatigny Sr. Community Recreation Center, 1310 Oak Valley Parkway.

At that party, also free of charge, kids can enjoy one of the multiple bounce houses that will be set up inside the gym before heading into the Halloween-themed maze in the amphitheater.

Of course candy will be available for the trick or treaters, along with snow cones and cotton candy, organizers tell Patch.

Both events will also host costume contests for prizes.
