DID YOU FEEL IT? A 3.2 Quake Shook the Area Today

The 2:28 p.m. temblor was centered near Santa Catalina Island, authorities said.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 hit this afternoon about 13 miles west of Del Mar, but caused no reported damage or significant ground tremors.

No emergency calls resulted from the shaker, according to dispatchers with several northern San Diego County public-safety agencies. The surf off the coast of Del Mar remained mild following the reported time of the quake, a city lifeguard said.
