Home Run! Lemon Grove Team Takes Southern California Title

All-Stars make local Little League history, go for Western Regional title today.

The Lemon Grove Senior League All-Stars has little time to rest on its laurels. Having won the Southern California championship Saturday, the baseball team will face-off against Montana Tuesday afternoon in the 2012 Little League Baseball Western Regional Senior Tournament.

The Southern California title is a proud first for the Lemon Grove Little League. From here forward, as the All-Stars advance toward the Senior League Baseball World Series, the Lemon Grove team is referred to in competition as Southern California.

To help the guys while they're on the road, a fundraiser will be held all day Wednesday at Coop’s West Texas Barbeque. To benefit the team’s journey to the World Series, the restaurant—which enjoys high ratings on Yelp and was recently featured as a stop on the exclusive —is donating 25 percent of the day's proceeds to the Lemon Grove Little League.

Southern California (LG) vs. Montana
Tuesday, July 31, 3 p.m.
GAME 7:
Southern California (LG) vs. Arizona
Thursday, Aug. 2, 6 p.m.
GAME 8:
Southern California vs. Nevada
Friday, Aug. 3, 3 p.m.
GAME 16:
Southern California vs. Hawaii
Sunday, Aug. 5, 6 p.m.

The World Series will be held Aug. 11-18 in Bangor, ME.
