Photos: Lemon Grove Fire Department Pancake Breakfast

The annual event featured the firefighter's flapjacks and much more.

Where you at the local fire department's pancake breakfast and open house Saturday? Seems like everyone in town came by for hot cakes, a tour of the station, and lots of fun activities.

An ASTREA helicopter from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department fleet touched down not once, but twice. After its first landing, the aerial workhorse was called into duty to provide support for ground units—but returned once the call was cleared. Crowds got to take a close look at the aircraft and interact with the pilot.

A variety of public safety information was available, as were displays from local law enforcement, and the firehouse safety trailer. Children took their best shots at sending firefighters into the water at a dunk tank. Engine doors were open for all those who wanted to try out the driver's seat. And the pancakes? All you could eat!
