Relay for Life: Lemon Grove Celebrates, Remembers, Fights Back

The seventh annual event raised more than $22,000 for the American Cancer Society.

237 participants. 24 hours. One fight.

Lemon Grove came together Saturday and Sunday to support the fight against cancer, and to celebrate the lives of those who can call themselves survivors.

In all, 26 teams raised more than $22,000 during the seventh annual Relay for Life of Lemon Grove, according to the online fundraising total on the event's American Cancer Society web page.

Three teams took first, second and third place in fundraising before the weekend:

  • Team Cheryl & Family, $4,325
  • TNT's for Carlos, $3,760
  • City Slickers, $2,460

The event is highlighted by the luminaria ceremony, held to celebrate, remember and fight back in honor of loved ones who have battled cancer, whether they have won or lost the fight.

Nice if you can actually pass such a bill but we are dealing with politicians who cherish the powerRead More they have attained rising to the top. In actuality this has "A Snowballs Chance In Hell" of passing, but kudos for the effort.
