Read All About It: Local Rotarians, Firefighters Sell Kids' News Day

Proceeds from the $1 special edition of UT San Diego are used to fund patient and family care programs, and community education.

Members of the Rotary Club of Lemon Grove teamed up with local firefighters Tuesday morning to raise money for Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego by selling special Kids’ News Day editions of UT San Diego.

Rotarians including Kathy Olsen, John Kalas, Bob Coleman, Bob McClellan and Robert Aguilar, and firefighters from Lemon Grove Station No. 10 joined more than 1,600 volunteers throughout San Diego County who hit the streets at the crack of dawn to hawk the $1 newspaper.

Proceeds from Kids’ News Day, now in its 23rd year, are used to fund patient and family care programs, and community education. The annual event is a joint partnership of U-T San Diego, NBC 7 San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary.
