Taking It to the Street: Rate Walking Conditions in Lemon Grove

Help WalkSanDiego assess how the city is doing response to the call for more walkable neighborhoods.

WalkSanDiego is seeking volunteers to walk the city for about an hour, and then share their thoughts and experiences as part of San Diego Regional Walk Day. Participants will rate Lemon Grove's walkability with scores that will be included in the Regional Walk Scorecard.

Those who are interested can join a Meetup group that will walk Lemon Grove starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, leaving from Fireman's Park at the corner of School Lane and Central Avenue.

The BestWALK app will assist walkers with the experience, but is not required for participation. It's available for free download for iPhone and Android

Manual forms are also available for rating the city's walkability.

Lemon Grove is ranked 16th in the county on the Regional Walk Scorecard based on ratings in three categories: Status of Walking Index, Policies and Implementation, and BestWALK Field Data. By emphasizing current walking conditions and policies and plans to improve walkability in the future, the data shows how San Diego's regional cities are doing in response to the call for more walkable neighborhoods.
