Who Won $17M Jackpot?

That's the question on everyone's mind.

If you heard shouts of joy coming from your neighbor’s house last night, it might be because they’re brand-new millionaires.

The town was on tenterhooks Thursday waiting to find out who holds a SuperLotto Plus ticket worth $17 million—but whether that person is a neighbor or someone just passing through remains to be seen. As of late Thursday afternoon, a winner had not come forward publicly.

At the 7-Eleven on Broadway where the winning ticket was sold, business was steady. The cashier on duty, who preferred not to be identified, said he doesn’t know who the winner is, but admitted it was exciting the winning ticket was bought in Lemon Grove.

The Union-Tribune reported the ticket was bought Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The store receives an $85,000 bonus—one-half a percent of the jackpot—for having sold the winning ticket. The estimated payout for the jackpot is $12.2 million if the winner takes a lump sum.
