You Filled the Barrel!

Despite rain, Lemon Grovians turn out to support annual Food and Toy Drive.

With sacks of groceries and armloads of toys, Lemon Grovians came out in the rain to give to the Soroptimist International of Lemon Grove's annual Food and Toy Drive. All those who donated got a cup of coffee compliments of Patch.

The collection barrel went from empty to overflowing in just four short hours from 8 a.m. to noon Monday at Anna's Family Restaurant. Thank you to everyone who donated!

The continues through Wednesday.

Sponsored by the Soroptimist International of Lemon Grove, the annual effort collects nonperishible foods and unwrapped toys to be distributed to local families in need for the holidays.

Christine, Thank you for running the very successful collection effort at Anna's. In addition to editing our online, home town newspaper (almost around the clock), you are also in the thick of local charitable efforts. This will be a merry Christmas for lots of families and kiddies. Helen

The drive ended Wednesday, though you may still be able to contribute at the Community Center on School Lane, which is where donations are organized for distribution.
