The city's free summer concert series features six bands offering rock 'n' roll of all flavors, plus country-western and cajun blues.

Kicking off July 7, the six-week music-on-the-green series runs each Thursday night at Berry Steeet Park. Festivities go from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Concertgoers are invited to bring their own food for picnics and barbecues. Participants should also bring blankets and chairs for sitting on while enjoying the music.

Pets, however, are not allowed—so leave your four-legged friends at home.

Here's the lineup:

  • July 7: Rock cover band West of 5.
  • July 14: Vintage rock 'n' roll from the Cat-illacs—Rocco, Harley, Gator and Sketch.
  • July 21: Country-western by Three Chord Justice.
  • July 28: Hits from the '60s and '70s from AM Forever.
  • Aug. 4: Modern dance band Y3K.
  • Aug. 11: The Bayou Brothers bring it home with foot-stomping cajun, zydeco and blues.

This event is sponsored by the City of Lemon Grove, EDCO, Hitzke Development Corp., and Dr. Kevin Swartzberg.

Nice if you can actually pass such a bill but we are dealing with politicians who cherish the powerRead More they have attained rising to the top. In actuality this has "A Snowballs Chance In Hell" of passing, but kudos for the effort.
