Lemon Grove Library Health Fair

Looking to live a better, healthier lifestyle? Pack up the family Saturday and head over to the Lemon Grove Library for a day of wellness at a free community health fair.

Local professionals will be on hand offering health screenings and activities for all ages. Screenings include blood pressure, HIV, dental, cholesterol, body mass index, vision, glucose and diabetes.

The library will also provide free mammogram screenings—though the appointments for this service are fully booked.

“San Diego County Library is devoted to providing access to affordable health resources,” said Branch Manager Amparo Madera. “All of these screenings are free, and everyone is welcome to attend. We hope you'll bring the whole family and enjoy a healthy day at the library.”

Children can keep occupied with a storytime, arts and crafts, face painting and a lesson in gardening from the Healthy Adventures Foundation.

The community health fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the , 8073 Broadway. It is presented in partnership with Susan G. Komen San Diego, Lions International, the Alzheimer's Association, the Healthy Adventures Foundation, Family Health Centers of San Diego, San Ysidro Health Center, and La Maestra Community Health Centers.
