'Cat-illacs' Kick Off Summer Concerts in the Park Thursday

The annual series takes place at Berry Street Park.

Nothing says summer in Lemon Grove like concerts in the park. 

The six-week series is a summertime tradition in the city for more than 30 years now, bring free entertainment and family activities to Berry Street Park each July and August. This year's line-up features old favorites and new faces.

The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic or barbecue each Thursday night from July 11 through Aug. 15 at the park, 7071 Mt. Vernon St. The concerts start at 6:30 p.m. 

Pets must be leashed.

With a variety of musical talent on the schedule, there's something sure to get everyone up and dancing:

July 11: The Cat-illacs perform vintage rock 'n' roll.
July 18: Left4Dead performs danceable rock 'n' roll.
July 25: Late Edition performs funk and Motown.
Aug. 1: Bayou Brothers perform Cajun blues.
Aug. 8: Three Cord Justice performs country-western.
Aug. 15 Vinyl Pirates perform rock hits from the '60s and '70s.

The free concert series is presented by the city through sponsorships from Edco Disposal, Bob Baker Toyota, Dr. Kevin Swartzberg Family Dentistry, Sycuan Casino, Cox Communications, and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
