If you suffered through the rain the past two weekends, take heart, dear souls. The sun is back again through Sunday, and there's more than enough to do outdoors to make up for lost time.

Your choices, near Lemon Grove and in San Diego, include the proverbial three-ring circus, a regatta on the bay and a big day in Ocean Beach, where a new fair is taking place alongside the tried-and-true Kite Festival.

BEST BETS CLOSE TO HOME

  • Where/when:  Lemon Grove Branch Library, 4 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Why Go: The latest installment of Fit and Fun Wednesdays features yoga and pilates lessons for teens.
  • Price: Free.
  • Where/when:  Westfield Parkway Shopping Center, El Cajon, various times, Thursday through Monday.
  • Why Go: To catch one of several chances to watch Circus Vargas close out its El Cajon run. There are three shows a day Saturday and Sunday.
  • Price: $15-$50.
  • Where/when: The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, San Diego, 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
  • Why Go: To experience the youth-driven Verge Theatre Company's take on showtunes in Broadway Spectacular 2011.
  • Price: $10-$15.

BEST BETS, A LITTLE FARTHER OUT

  • Where/when: San Diego Bay, San Diego, 11 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
  • Why Go: To see sailors from around the world, including America's Cup winners, join in the RC-44 Championship Tour, named for the type of sailboat in which they'll be competing.
  • Price: Free.
  • Where/when: Ocean Beach, San Diego, Saturday.
  • Why Go: Make it a day on the beach with two big street fairs. The venerable  hits the Ocean Beach Recreation Center, for kite making and a parade, at 9 a.m. Then the newbie, , starts off at 11 a.m. with bands, skateboarding demos and an art fair.
  • Price: Free.
