Tango Your Way Into a Weekend of Shooting, Skating and Reggae

Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.

After last weekend’s busy schedule of superheroes, science fiction and sandcastles, this final weekend in July is a bit more lax. That’s not to say there isn’t stuff to do—we’ve got plenty of events in town and beyond that will satisfy the down-to-earth and the go-getters.

From July 29-31, Lemon Grove has a lot of community events, like a tango class, and an amazing book sale.

If you’re ready to get out of town, head to La Mesa for a movie under the stars or send your teens to Santee for an overnight campout. You can also stay out of the heat with some ice skating at the Kroc Center. In Alpine, there's some clay shooting. The Del Mar Fairgrounds boasts a Ziggy Marley concert this weekend, so you can get your reggae on after the race; or go downtown for some all-day doggie fun. Enjoy these last days of July!
