Price of Gas Is on the Rise

Six increases in little more than a week keep the cost inching up.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose six-tenths of a cent today to $3.574, the sixth increase in eight days following a 40-day streak of decreases.

The average price is 3.2 cents more than one week ago and 26.2 cents higher than a year ago but 13.3 cents less than a month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose one-tenth of a cent last Tuesday, then fell nine-tenths of a cent on Wednesday and one-tenth of a cent on Thursday, then rose seven-tenths of a cent on Friday, 1.7 cents on Saturday, seven-tenths of a cent on Sunday and a half-cent on Monday.
