"Prices are rising for local drivers due to increased oil prices resulting from continued Middle East tension, but fortunately Southern California prices are not going up as quickly as they have in the Midwest and on the East Coast," Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California said.

"Connecticut and New York drivers are paying more than California motorists and Idaho and Illinois drivers are paying almost as much."
