A strike could be called as early as 7 p.m. Sunday—would it change how you shop?

With the final barrier to a grocery workers strike removed Thursday night, a walkout by employees of Albertsons, Vons and Ralphs could be called as soon as Sunday if a deal can't be reached on a new contract.

After months of stalled negotiations, union leaders on Thursday moved a step closer to calling a strike and gave three-day notice to store management that they intend to cancel their contract. If an agreement can’t be reached by 7 p.m. Sunday, a strike can be called at any time.
