Spring Valley Vons to Raise Funds for Easter Seals

East County locations will participate in a fundraising effort to benefit local residents with disabilities.

Vons supermarkets in Spring Valley and other communities near Lemon Grove are participating in a fundraising effort to benefit Easter Seals.

During the month of April, the stores will be raising money for services the charitable organization provides to local residents with disabilities, according to a news release.

Customers will have a chance to make a contribution to Easter Seals Disability Services at every check-out counter. The donations will go to aid Easter Seals with providing local autism services, job training and employment opportunities, early childhood development, independent living options, and services that help adults learning daily living and social skills, officials said.

“Easter Seals Southern California has seen first-hand the positive impact of the money raised by Vons and Pavilions stores in the last eight years of this campaign for people with disabilities,” Mark Whitley, chief executive officer of Easter Seals Southern California, said in a statement.

“Last year’s campaign raised over $1 million in support of Easter Seals Southern California. We are truly grateful for their continued financial support that enables us to offer help, hope and answers to children and adults living with disabilities, and to the families who love them.”
