Lemon Grove Library Receives $65,000 Donation

With the help of Rosemary Putnam, the Lemon Grove Library received a check donation.

After 26 years in the making, the Lemon Grove Library received a generous donation from local supporters.

The library was presented with a $60,000 check from the Friends of Lemon Grove Library on June 27. The donation comes from book sales.

“We started having book sales, we used to put the big tables out in front of the library once a month," said Rosemary Putnam of the Friends of Lemon Grove Library. "We saved and saved and saved until we got to the point where we wrote a check for $60,000."

In addition to the $60,000, the Lemon Grove City Council granted the library $5,000 at the request of Putnam. The extra $5,000 will be given to the Family Literacy Collection that will include 300-500 books and periodicals for low-income families.
