Calling All Artists

Submit your design for the "Living Well in Lemon Grove" utility-box project by March 31.

Do you have some artistic flair you want to share with everyone? Are you looking to leave your mark on Lemon Grove?

The Rotary Clubs of Lemon Grove and San Diego are calling on artists and others in the community to contribute ideas for the “Living Well in Lemon Grove” program, which will transform utility boxes in the downtown business district into local works of art. You supply the idea, and the Rotary will supply the paint.

Using the theme of living well through healthy choices and lifestyle, residents are invited to submit proposed artwork in color on 8 ½ x11 paper, along with a completed application.  Your design must not contain words, letters or numbers.

If your design is chosen by the review team, it will go on one of the more than 20 utility boxes on the Broadway commercial corridor. Utility boxes come in a variety of sizes, but are generally either short and boxy—about 36 inches square— or 48 to 60 inches high—tall and rectangular.

Need an idea to get your creative juices flowing? Here are some provided by the Rotary:
