Five Things to do Today on This Glorious Monday!

So it's November and our weather is spectacular. Take the opportunity to rub it in.

Okay, I can't resist this one:

1. It's officially that time of year, when we have the best weather in the entire country. Not technically a thing to do today, but we should all take stock of how lucky we are to have this wonderful sunshine and warmth! It's so beautiful! Go to the beach! Go surfing! Then e-mail your relatives in Ohio and Minnesota about it (be sure to include pictures) just so they got the idea.

2. Parents, please be aware that today is a minimum day for your kids in the , which means they get out of school at 12:53 p.m. This is because of parent-teacher conferences all week. The middle schoolers only have early days Monday and Tuesday.

3. You've got to love a band named "Melly Frances and the Distilled Spirits." Appearing every Monday at the Riviera Supper Club in La Mesa, 7777 University Ave.

4. Get your on (for kids ages 6 through 18) at the Kroc Center on Mondays, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Free for members, $2 for guests. Bring your school ID.

5. The is having its regular business meeting at the Community Center at 6 p.m.
