Gas Price Rises Again; Up 15.7 Cents Since Last Week

Average price per gallon in the county is $4.37.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose today for the seventh consecutive day, increasing seven-tenths of  a cent to $4.372, but relief could be coming soon.

The wholesale price of California-blend gasoline on the New York Mercantile Exchange dropped nearly 30 cents per gallon earlier this week after maintenance was completed at refineries in Southern California and Northern California, which should lead to the end of record-low inventories which had caused the increases.

The average price is 15.7 cents more than a week ago, 13.3 cents higher than one month ago and 17.2 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
