Gas prices rise 1.1 cents in San Diego County, making the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline $3.993.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County  rose on Friday to its highest level since Aug. 16, 2008, increasing 1.1 cents to $3.993.

The average price is 1.7 cents higher than a week ago, 31.4 cents more than one month ago and 88.4 cents above what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

As of Friday, the lowest price for a gallon of regular self-serve gas can be found at the Arco station on Federal Boulevard and College Place, according to SanDiegoGasPrices.com, where it's going for $3.91. The next-best price can be found at USA on Broadway, where it's selling for $3.97.
