Groundhog Day: The Prediction is In

We've got the "Best Climate on Earth." When will the East Coast get a break? Let's see what Phil says.

Groundhog Club handler John Griffiths holds Punxsutawney Phil, the weather prognosticating groundhog, during the 126th celebration of Groundhog Day on Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, PA, on Feb. 2, 2012.

Phil saw his shadow, forecasting six more weeks of winter weather.

Here in Lemon Grove, we can expect sun and a high of 69° F today, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be clear, with a low around 48° F. Temperatures are expected to inch up a bit starting Friday and continuing through the weekend. Expect sunny skies, and highs around 72 to 74° F. Nighttime lows are expected to be around 49° F—so keep your Snuggie handy.
