Need to beat the heat? There's ice skating at the Kroc Center.

1. It's hot. How about at the Kroc Center in La Mesa? The first open-skate session from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. is $9. The second open-skate session from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. is $5. Price include skate rental.
2. The meets at 12:10 p.m. at the Community Center. Kiwanis is a global volunteer organization dedicated to serving the children of the world. Stop by the meeting and find out what the group is doing for children in Lemon Grove.
