Warrant Sweep Nets 38 Arrests in Lemon Grove, Surrounding Areas

'Operation Clean Streets' sweep carried out parallel to community cleanup day.

 

As community volunteers fanned out across downtown Lemon Grove Saturday morning to do their part for “,” law enforcement was at work behind the scenes conducting a warrant sweep that netted 38 arrests in the city and surrounding areas, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

Organized by the San Diego Sheriff's Department Court Services Bureau-Field Unit and the San Diego Fugitive Task Force, the sweep targeted Lemon Grove and surrounding areas to apprehend suspects with misdemeanor and felony warrants, according to Sheriff's Sgt. James Blanton.

Over the past year, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department has increased its efforts in the apprehension of wanted subjects, and will continue to do so, Blanton said.

The operation was carried out by 20 deputies and officers from the two agencies, from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and resulted in 38 arrests and 46 warrants cleared, according to Blanton.

People with outstanding warrants are urged by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to turn themselves in at a court facility during business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
