"An American Family" Art Exhibit Held Over

"An American Family:  The Art of Kathleen Strzelecki" has been held over through February in response to rave reviews from visitors, art educators and the East County Californian.

The display of large scale works employs Strzelecki's trademark mixed media -- fabric, paper and photographic collage with oils.  Emotionally wrenching and psychologically intense, the portraits engage the viewer on a personal level.

The daughter of artists Vernon Margaret Allen, former protégés of Frank Lloyd Wright, Strzelecki was a scholarship student at the Chouinard Institute and has exhibited widely.  Recently, she completed the epic Lemon Grove History Mural, which spans an exterior wall of the historic 1912 building at 3308 Main Street, Lemon Grove.

The Strzelecki solo show is the third in a series in FY 2014 sponsored by the Lemon Grove Historical Society.  The show is on view Monday-Saturday during library hours.  For more information, call 619-463-8023 or 619-460-4353.
