Live Reptiles at the San Diego NWR!

Saturday, August 16, 8:00am ~ 11:00am 

That's right - get to see, touch, and learn about the native snakes, lizards, skinks, and more that thrive in and around San Diego with biologists from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). 

Last time was a big hit, so be sure to bring your whole family! The day will start out with viewing the reptiles, then a short (less than 1 hour) optional nature hike with refuge staff will follow at about 9:00 am. Please remember to wear sunscreen, hat, bring water, and your enthusiasm for these amazing creatures!

If you know someone who may have a fear of reptiles, bring them along and we will show them how cool, beautiful, and important these creatures really are. Plus we will have small prizes. 

Parking: at the old steel bridge lot at the intersection of HWY 94 (Campo Rd.) + Singer Lane in Rancho San Diego. If full, please park at the shopping center across the street and safely cross using the cross-walk.

Directions: Walk across the bridge and head right into the refuge. You will see our pop-up tents and staff waiting for you.
