Kiwanigram: Jan. 15, 2014

PREZ “Cul” had John PIPES  lead the pledge; and Debbie SOHL gave a fine invocation.

“Happy Birthday” greetings this month to Pam WATT (Jan 4th) & Dale CHAMBERAIN (Jan 17th) Congratulations to both!!!

Good to see Kevin SWARTZBERG in attendance, and Debbie SOHL brought in some great Vegetable/Beef Soup in addition to our good salad and SUBWAY sandwiches.

Debbie SOHL advises that SOUTH-EASTERN may be having an Interclub with us at our next meeting.  Let’s have a good attendance because we will have a good Program to listen to; and Del KAY needs everyone to call and let him know if you are unable to attend the meeting so that we don’t order too many lunches.  Please help us out!

NOTE:  No one in attendance today will be able to attend the DCM meeting today; however, our club will be hosting the Division Council Meeting in March; so put that on your calendar and help us have a great showing for our fine club.

There was no “Finemaster” today; and the raffle was won by Del KAY who pulled out a $5 White Chip which he gave to Debbie SOHL for her good soup contribution. Therefore, Del KAY will be the “Finemaster” at our next meeting.

During the Board Of Director’s meeting, we approved $50 for “BSA Troop #108”; $20 for the “Nutrition Center’s Coffee Fund”; and $10 for “Miracle Mile Of Quarters”.

Anyone who will be working or being with kids should register to take the “YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING”, which is provided by “Kiwanis-One” on the computer. This program is great for you…as well as the kids!

NOTICE: Our next meeting will be held on February 5th. We will be looking forward to seeing all of you in attendance, along with the Interclub from South/Eastern.  Let’s see what we can do to get some new members and build up our fine club.

The following meeting will be held on Februry 19th.  Be there to approve some important Kiwanis business during our Board of Director’s Meeting, and to support your club’s activities.  It is also Division Council Meeting day; so, let’s send at least one member to that meeting.  Start the new year off right and make a concerted effort to attend the meetings regularly.  We need everyone’s enthusiastic support!

Our “PANCAKE DAY” fundraiser will he held on May 17th (Saturday) on the same day as the “Relay For Life” will run in Lemon Grove.  Put that date on your calendar and be ready to do your part to make our fundraiser a big success. Del KAY has confirmed our reservation with the School Kitchen and L. G. Maintenance.  There is also a possibility that we can have an additional, and earlier, “Dudley’s Bread” fundraiser in March. We definitely need to do something like that to raise enough funds to do what’s needed within our community this year.
