Counting Apples and our Last Apple Art Work

This week marks the end of September, well almost the end of September since there is the 30th on Monday. We will be clearing our shelves of apples, red/yellow/green color themes, and changing our Practical Life works over the weekend. This week we took tiny espresso sized coffee filters, colored them with red, green and yellow markers, and then misted them with water. All the colors softened and blended together. I had cut out an apple border from red construction paper and when the tiny coffee filters were dry, we glued them to the back of the border. I know size is hard to tell in a photograph, but the whole thing is only about 5 inches. I think they are adorable!

Here is also a quick shot of a 3 year old working hard at counting out his apples. This is a 1-5 counting work and the little boy had to put the numerals in order before he started counting out his apples.

Next week starts one of my favorite months: October! We will have out fun Halloween work and will start learning our bones! We will also have out our Halloween Bingo.
