Yesterday Sophia froze paint with a little water in ice cube trays. Today the children painted with the paint ice cubes. They painted on paper, moving the paint cube all over as it melted. Then we covered our slide with paper and they slid the paint cubes down the slide. At the end, we took a long sheet of paper and tossed all the remaining paint cubes on the paper. As they played on the playground, they kept checking in to see how the melting paint cubes were doing! It is always interesting to me how some children do their art quickly and how others spend more time covering the entire paper. Giving them the time to enjoy the process is our goal, whether done quickly or more intently. www.MCHLG.com
