Vernon Eugene Linden—who built his family home in Lemon Grove out of a dismantled Navy barracks—died Sept. 14, according to a U-T San Diego obituary and other online records.
He was 95.
A former superintendent for Kitzman’s Plumbing, Linden was “a patriot, a Navy radioman in World War II, a self-educated naturalist and botanist. … His advice to all was, ‘Have fun’ and ‘Keep smilin’.”
