Best Advice Your Father Ever Gave You

In honor of Father's Day, take a minute and share the best thing your dad ever told you to do.

Father's Day is June 17, and while it's a day to give a gift or spend time with one's father, one of the best gifts any dad can give is advice.

My dad always told me, “You can't cheat an honest man.” That piece of advice sticks with me daily.

He also told me, “It's better to be looked over than overlooked.” Those words of wisdom have helped a lot in my journalism career when dealing with hurtful comments.

La Jolla Patch editor Michelle Mowad said her father gave her a lot of great advice:

“Stay away from fraternity boys. They are trouble.”

“Never leave home without money in your pocket.”

“Be responsible for your actions. Every action has a consequence and every consequence as complication. Think before you act and think before you speak. Actions and words need to be thought out every time.”

“Holding hands is great.”

Tell us in comments the best advice you ever got from your dad.

Nice if you can actually pass such a bill but we are dealing with politicians who cherish the powerRead More they have attained rising to the top. In actuality this has "A Snowballs Chance In Hell" of passing, but kudos for the effort.
