Lemon Grove Can Cluck Over National Fried Chicken Day

Summer staple has its own holiday. City offers places where you can celebrate.

Summer wouldn’t be the same if there wasn’t fried chicken at a picnic or BBQ. The holiday weekend is just starting and why not indulge in a classic American food? 

Fried chicken has roots in the South, but there are a few finger-licking places in Lemon Grove.

In honor of Friday—National Fried Chicken Day—we note a few local places that you might want to grab some poultry delights.


on Broadway has recipes coming from Southern states. They are known for their wood-smoked meat, but their 99-cent menu is where it’s at.

One piece of fried chicken is only 99 cents. For $5, you can grab three pieces of chicken, green beans and corn on the cob. Your stomach and wallet will thank you later.

If you’re on the go, the famous chain KFC is right in the heart of Lemon Grove. Drive thru and grab a bucket of chicken. Established by Colonel Sanders in 1952 the original fried chicken is made with 11 different herbs and spices.
