Poll: Should Companies Be Boycotted for the Political Views of Their Execs?

Latest blow-up concerns Chick-fil-A CEO’s comments against gay marriage and the reactions.

When Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy recently said, “We are very much supportive of the family—the biblical definition of the family unit,” he stirred the pot on gay marriage, igniting comments like those of San Diego Councilman Todd Gloria (who represents Hillcrest, a haven for gays): “I think it’s surprising that a well-run corporation would choose to ignore a huge group of consumers. That’s disappointing and, quite frankly, dumb.” Some are urging boycotts. But should McDonald’s and Carl’s Jr. (when they were run by Ray Kroc and Carl Karcher) have been targeted by Democrats?  Those owners were solid conservative as well.

BREAKING NEWS - Bong takes a bong hit and goes back to bed.
Steve August 08, 2012 at 04:54 PM
Michael, you said this: ***Steve, Your writting is not worth the effort to explain to you that the Bible is far from fiction. As always you are free to believe the way you want. I would not want to be in your shoes on my death bed.*** You will not expend the effort because you lack the capacity to do so, so don't pretend that you don't want to. Make no mistake here: You won't do it for one of two reasons: 1 - Because you're not smart enough 2 - Because no evidence exists to support your position What proof is there that the Bible is anything but a work of fiction? Nothing in it can be proven. Prove to me that the Bible is true. Prove to me that Eve came from Adam's rib. Prove to me that Jesus turned water into wine. Prove to me that Jesus actually died on the cross. Prove to me that Jesus rose from the dead. Prove those things to me, and I may acknowledge the unfailing truth of the BIble. It's called "faith" for a reason. Once you have proof, faith is meaningless. What you have faith in doesn't matter if it's been proven to be true or untrue. I begrudge no one their beliefs. But don't say that your beliefs are "true", because your beliefs have not been proven true. You have only your beliefs, but your beliefs are inadequate as "proof"...

Bong votes for Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson as President Obama wins re-election by a comfortable margin over Mute Rmoney ! FiveThirtyEight's latest projection shows President Obama's likelyhood of being re-elected at 72%,that's plus 3% from July 31st & his receiving over 300 electoral votes ! Even the Republicans can't stand Williard, but they're stuck with him as he leads his party to a crushing defeat this November !

Steve, et al, There are two basic forces at work in our universe. What are they? An "educated" person would probably say "energy and matter", or something like that. Close, but no cigar. These two basic forces are good and evil. You can attach other names to them if you wish, i.e., light and darkness, life and death, God and The Devil, etc. Changing their names does not change their function however.
LG Joe August 08, 2012 at 05:51 PM
Actually there are five fundamental forces at work in the in the universe: Gravity, Electromagnetic, Nuclear, the Strong Force (Proton to Neutron Ratio) and the Weak Force (Photon to Baryon Ratio). Educated people know these because they spend their time studying math, science and physics rather than those ancient superstitions with red devils and gods in the clouds.
Steve August 08, 2012 at 05:59 PM
So, if an educated person would say "energy and matter", what would an UNeducated person say? "Good and evil"? If the Bible is, in fact, "true", it shouldn't be difficult to prove that. Go...
LG Joe August 08, 2012 at 06:02 PM
Matter is not a "force." Matter is anything that occupies space and has mass - it exists in four states; solid, liquid, gas and plasma.

Bong votes for a Lutheran so a Christian can win over a Mormon. Hypocrite.
Tom Yarnall August 08, 2012 at 06:48 PM
Hey LG Einstein, Newton or whatever, how about the sexual force of attraction. How long would the population last without that? I think that is the most fundamental force. BTW, are you familiar with the Higgs boson where a God Particle was produced in a Switzerland accelerator? The scientist believe they created mass. Lots to prove, but if true, don't you think an enormous amount of mass was produced during the "big bang" Could some of that "created mass" come together as a basic building block for life? The Lord only knows and he won't tell.
Batman August 08, 2012 at 07:13 PM
Mr. Joe, The five mechanical forces you describe, of which there are many more than five, are neither good or evil. They simply exist within the sphere of good and evil, and can be utilized by humans for the either purpose. If being un-educated enables me to understand the concept of good and evil, and being educated blinds you to it, then you have a problem. You need to take your degree back to the university you got it from and get a refund, because you got ripped-off.
Steve August 08, 2012 at 07:22 PM
I don't know of anyone who believes that homosexuality is normal. I certainly don't believe it is. I do, however, believe that it's natural. "Natural" and "normal" are not mutually exclusive...
Michael Ecklund August 08, 2012 at 07:47 PM
Steve:: Here we go...Many things have been found to prove that the Bible is the inspired word of God. From Dead sea scrolls on.The thing with you Steve if you think when you die your death ends it, you got a surprise comming. Most religions that are not of Jesus Christ you need to do things and preform works of the flesh. The Bible is the biggest selling book in the world, why is that ? With Jesus Christ all you need to do is say in your heart, I believe. Yes it takes faith, and that's what it is about. St. Paul said in Romans, "I preach Jesus Crucified and to us which are saved it's the power of God, to the unbeliever it's foolishness. To get grace you need faith as little as a mustard seed. He does not ask much of you only bellieve. Try asking him to show you that he is real if you dare and see what takes place in your life. I pray you don't end up a fool.
Michael Ecklund August 08, 2012 at 07:49 PM

Steve August 08, 2012 at 09:54 PM
Michael, I never said such people didn't exist, I said I didn't know any. And I don't. Something can be unnatural and completely natural at the same time. Ever see an albino? No way is that "normal", yet it's absolutely "natural"...
Doug Curlee August 08, 2012 at 10:28 PM
o.k..let bong and the jesus troll have at each other.. doesn't mean wae have to play along with it.. doug
Kevin George August 08, 2012 at 10:32 PM
Steve , let me save you some time. Just stop now, you are peeing up an endless rope. Give your dog a Bible, he/she will make more sense of it than the troll.
Steve August 08, 2012 at 11:16 PM
I guess we shouldn't permit albinos to marry. After all, they're not normal, right?
Michael Ecklund August 09, 2012 at 12:47 AM
Doug Curlee: You must be reading my stuff or you would not be telling everyone about me. The point is I could care less if you write to me as anything you have to say is next to worthless.
Michael Ecklund August 09, 2012 at 12:52 AM
Kevin George: Give your dog a Bible....that's good stuff man. Every man has a (dark) side which he turns toward nobody; you have to slip around behind if you want to see it. Don't you have a job or something?
Michael Ecklund August 09, 2012 at 12:54 AM
D.C. That's what you are best at, PLAY.................with it..................
Michael Ecklund August 09, 2012 at 01:17 AM
D.C. and K.G. Calling me a Jesus troll is really not bad at all, in fact I kind of like it. I don't mind shouting the words of Jesus to anyone. What you two could use is maybe a dose of spirituality, and then you might stop writting the trite you both are so good at.
