Poll: Should Humans Retake the La Jolla Children’s Pool from the Harbor Seals?

State Coastal Commission approved a year-round rope barrier, but debate will continue for many.

It doesn’t involve endangered species or protection of rare habitat, but People vs. Seals has become an environmental battleground in La Jolla.  The state Wednesday by approving a year-round rope barrier at the Children’s Pool. Of course, this won’t end the conflict between seal supporters and beach-access advocates who sometimes harass each other.  But the harbor seals will continue to have their pups at Casa Beach. Is the ultimate solution all or nothing?
