Starley Cristal Geart faces child-endangerment charges in National City shopping center incident.

A 4-month-old girl was perhaps minutes from death when she was rescued from a hot car with windows rolled up Tuesday afternoon at a National City shopping center.  Her mother, Starley Cristal Geart, —accused of leaving the infant strapped into the back seat amid temperatures as high as 140 degrees. If convicted, Geart might go to jail. But what should be done to protect her daughter?
