9 DUI Arrests at Lemon Grove Checkpoint Friday Night

The checkpoint on Broadway operated until 2 a.m.

Sheriff’s deputies conducting a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint Friday night in the 7600 block of Broadway arrested nine people for suspicion of DUI, according to Sgt. Herbert Taft.

Approximately 15 deputies staffed the checkpoint, which operated from 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. They made contact with 826 drivers and directed 50 to a secondary area for further inspection, according to Taft. Fourteen vehicles were impounded and 15 drivers were cited for suspended, revoked or no driver’s license.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
