Armed Robber Targets Lemon Grove Store

A gunman held up a Lemon Grove convenience store late Sunday, deputies said.

San Diego sheriff's deputies were looking for the gunman who held up a Lemon Grove convenience store, a San Diego County sheriff's official said today.

The armed robbery was reported at 9:39 p.m. Sunday at the AM/PM Mini Mart at 8001 Broadway, sheriff's Sgt. Matt Cook.

"The suspect was described as a black male adult in his early 20s with a mustache, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black pants,'' Cook said. "The suspect was armed with a black handgun which he concealed inside his waistband.''

The suspect was last seen running southbound on Kempf Street from the
business, the sergeant said.

"The loss was an undetermined amount of cash. There were no customers inside the business at the time of the robbery,'' Cook said. Deputies checked the immediate area for the suspect but did not find him.
