At-Risk Man Missing from Palm Street Care Facility Found in San Diego

Alan Piggott, reported missing Friday afternoon, was located near Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego about 5:40 p.m

A man reported missing from a Lemon Grove care facility Friday afternoon was found safe near Horton Plaza by the San Diego Police Department, authorities said.

Alan Piggott, who was considered at risk due to medical issues and a need to use oxygen, left a care facility in the 7900 block of Palm Street in his motorized wheelchair about 9 a.m. Friday. He was reported missing about 2 p.m.

Piggott was found safe about 5:40 p.m. by the San Diego Police Department, said Sheriff's Lt. J.T. Faulkner.

Sheriff's deputies searched the Lemon Grove area for the man, with assistance from ASTREA in the and Search and Rescue volunteers on the ground.
