Chase on Central Avenue Ends when Stolen Car Crashes into Fire Hydrant

Two suspects have been detained following the Friday afternoon incident, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Two suspects in an allegedly stolen vehicle have been detained following a chase Friday afternoon on Central Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

A short pursuit ensued at about 4:40 p.m. Friday when deputies ran the plates of an unidentified vehicle and found the car to be stolen, said sheriff's Lt. Scott Amos. When deputies turned on the emergency lights to stop the vehicle, there was a chase that ended when the driver crashed the car into a fire hydrant on the 7500 block of Central Avenue.

Information was not available about damage to the area.
