CHP: Man Walking on 125 Struck by Car in Drunken Driving Incident

Paramedics took the man to an area hospital. The extent of his injuries is unclear.

A male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the right shoulder of state Route 125 in an apparent DUI-related accident in the Lemon Grove area early Monday, authorities said.

The pedestrian was on the right shoulder of north state Route 125 around 3:20 a.m. when he was struck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A SigAlert was in effect until 5:30 a.m.

The extent of the victim's injury was unclear, although the CHP reported that the pedestrian was conscious at the scene. Paramedics took him to an area hospital.

The CHP reported on its website that the accident was DUI-related but did not elaborate.
