Deputies Arrest Two in Robbery of Downtown Cell Phone Store

Sheriff's deputies say the two arrested in connection with Monday's robbery may be tied to a series of burglaries as well.

Two male suspects arrested Wednesday in connection with the armed robbery Monday of a downtown cell phone store may be tied to a series of burglaries around the county, according to Detective Joel Stranger of the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Station.

A juvenile male and man are in custody after detectives from the Lemon Grove Investigations Unit searched a home in College Grove where items from the Mobile.com store on Broadway were recovered, Stranger said.

Eric Leroy Davis, 18, and the minor suspect were both charged with possession of stolen property. The juvenile suspect’s name was not released.

Numerous electronics from at least four residential and commercial burglaries in areas outside of Lemon Grove were found at the house, authorities said.

Detectives investigating the armed robbery said two males entered the Mobile.com store at about 10:30 a.m. Monday, and held up the business. One suspect carried a handgun. The pair robbed the store of several cell phones, and got away in a vehicle driven by a female accomplice.
