Deputies, Community Take on Operation Clean Streets

The Lemon Grove Sheriff's Station organized the clean-up in the city's downtown which drew a big response.

Officials from the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s station recently held a clean up event in downtown Lemon Grove title Operation Clean Streets. Late Saturday, officials declared the effort a big success. Below is the announcement posted on the San Diego Sheriff’s Facebook page.

Nearly 200 hundred people turned out on Saturday for "Operation Clean Streets" to clean up Downtown Lemon Grove just in time for the holidays.

The Lemon Grove Sheriff's Station organized the clean-up, which kicked off at Fireman's Park along School Lane. From there, volunteers fanned out along Lemon Grove Avenue, Broadway and other nearby areas to pick up trash, paint curbs, pull weeds and other projects.

A local recycling company provided cleaning tools, gloves, reflective vests and trash bags to volunteers.

"Operation Clean Streets" was coordinated by Crime Prevention Specialist Jim Wieboldt with the support of the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Station.
