Deputies Search for Hit and Run Driver Who Injured Teen in Lemon Grove

Deputies are asking help finding a driver who struck and injured an 18-year-old woman who was crossing the street.

Detectives from the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Station and Crime Stopers need help in finding and identifying a driver responsible for a hit-and-run that injured a young woman.

The crash happened on April 17 around 12:30 a.m. An 18-year-old woman was crossing the street in the 2000 block of Lemon Grove Avenue when she was hit by the vehicle that just kept going.

A friend of the victim saw the incident and described the car as small and red with dark tinted windows. Pieces of the car were left at the scene and determined to be from a red 2005 or 2006 Toyota Corolla, officials said.

The car will have damage on the right, front side of the bumper and side mirror.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. You can remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward leading to an arrest.
